WHO IS OUR PARTNER IN RECYCLING AND YARN SUPPLY?
The mill is located in Prato, Tuscany, which has built its fortune on transforming old scraps into new clothes, particularly knitwear and wool.
Prato’s water is supplied by a system designed to recycle industrial waste water, which is the only one of its kind in Europe.
Our partner is a family run business, with all hands on deck. They are passionate about the fame of their city turning rags into precious new yarn. It is their high skills that enable to recycle waste to new yarn with a quality equal to virgin yarn. These skills are passed on to the next generation of family and local workers ensuring that Prato remains the capital of “Turning rags into new”.
Although they are not formally audited, they adhere to the best practice principles set out in the SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) and are naturally in compliance with EU regulations that protect workers’ rights.
