OUR KNITWEAR MANUFACTURER IN ITALY

WHO IS OUR PARTNER?

A 2nd generation knitting manufacturer, founded in 1968 by the mother of the owner Signore Alessandro.  Since their beginning in the 60’s they have manufactured cashmere knitwear for the famous and favourite luxury maisons.  To ensure a continued high level of artisanal craftsmanship they are passing on their skills to young local workers.

Since foundation the owners live the passion and pride of their skills, inspiring young workers to see a future in artisan manufacturing; a career upon which to build a life. We are proud of our relationship with them, sharing values and ethics which are reflected in our garments.

WHY ITALY?

Italy is the country of artisanal craftsmanship. Our partner is located in a small town between the lakes in northern Italy and the border to Switzerland. It is here, the knitters of Lombardy say, that the best cashmere is produced, as they have the mountain water, so essential in the finishing process of the production of a cashmere knitwear garment. It is that water that gives the cashmere its incomparable softness without damaging the natural protection of the fibre that gives it longevity.

HOW WE FOUND OUR PARTNERS?

Before founding London W11, Eva-Maria worked several years with luxury goods, experiencing the most exciting brands out there in their very exciting times of immense growth. Having worked with brands like Prada, Helmut Lang, Jean Paul Gaultier and Calvin Klein, she was in a network that has access to the best of the best. She was able to search for a manufacturer from the inside, searching a partner who has the needed craftsmanship and shared ethical values to produce an honest luxury product.

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING OF THE YARN?

It’s easy to see why animal welfare, sustainability and traceability are the three pillars of the cashmere industry’s ethical sourcing initiatives. The mills we are sourcing our cashmere yarn from are working in partnership with approved de-hairers. They encourage sustainable herding and grazing practices, promote high standards of animal welfare, and work to protect this traditional way of life within nomadic communities.

No compromise is made on the yarn to ensure the production of an ethical and honest luxury garment of timeless modern design and stands the test of time; our take on slow fashion.
